Comment by Dmitry Plisetskiy: - In the new edition of the 1st volume of Harry Kasparov’s book “My Great Predecha”, a number of historical facts are clarified and comments on all (!) 148 parties are thoroughly recycled. Many previous assessments have changed in the parties of Andersen, Morphi, Steinitsa, Chigorin, Tarrash, Laskera, Kapablanki, Alekhina ... For example, in such known ones as the 7th batch of the Lasker - Steinitsa match (1894) or Pilsbury - Lasker (Petersburg 1896) , and in all key parties of the Capablanca match - Alekhin (Buenos Aires 1927).
Harry Kasparov’s five-volume “My great predecessors” has no analogues in chess literature: the 13th world champion talks about the fate and work of the twelve previous champions and their rivals, about one and a half century struggle for world championship. Exploring the famous parties under the microscope of powerful computer programs, the author changes many previous grades and, in essence, summarizes the development of chess in the 20th century. The first volume is dedicated to the “uncorgected kings” of the past and the first four official champions of the world - Steinitsa, Laskera, Kapablanca and Alekhin. Here is the second edition, radically supplemented and processed. 48 pages of illustrations on coated paper.
The second volume is dedicated to four world champions - Ave, Botvinnik, Smyslov and Talya, as well as applicants for this title of Ceres, Bronstein and Geller.
Here is the second edition, supplemented and radically processed. You will find many interesting finds, especially in key parties of matches for the world crown.
The fifth volume is dedicated to the world champion Karpov and his historical opponent Koruchny, their dramatic fights for the chess crown. Here is the second edition, supplemented and dramatically overshadowed. You will find many new interesting finds, especially in the most important parties of the famous match in Bagios (1978)
