This is a book of memoirs about the personal relations of the great romantic chess player, world champion Mikhail Tal and his first wife and a person close to him, the author of the book Sally Landau, relations, as she said, "tender and contradictory, bright and sad ...". Despite all the emphasis on these emotional relations of two original personalities, Sally Landau put the image of Misha Tal, undoubtedly a wonderful chess creator and, possibly, one of the most outstanding and most original personalities of the last century, in the center of reader's attention.
