Boris Mironovich Gertsenzon (December 28, 1920, Odessa - May 11, 2012, St. Petersburg) - Soviet and Russian checkers figure, athlete, coach, journalist and writer.

Participant of the Great Patriotic War. Voluntarily called up for military service in 1943. Participant of the operation to break the Leningrad blockade, fought near Shlisselburg (1943) and on the Pulkovo Heights (1944), passed through the Baltics, Romania, Hungary and Austria along the roads of war.

Honored coach of Russia. Trained three world champions, 6 national champions and 62 masters of sports. Master of Sports of the USSR (1956). Honorary Master of Sports of the USSR. Author of 19 books on checkers. Holder of the FMJD Diploma for active promotion of checkers in the world. Academician of the St. Petersburg Academy of Chess and Checkers Art.
