The book tells about the development of progress in understanding the art of chess in the 17th-21st centuries based on the games of the best chess players in the world of all eras. Each game has a specific pedagogical theme and is accompanied by educational comments, and also contains game variations and numerical evaluations of positions performed by the modern super-grandmaster computer program "Houdini-4". In all cases, where it was possible, comments from the chess players who played these games or other grandmasters were also used. Each game, in addition to its text and notes, also contains the name of the theme and annotation to emphasize its educational goals. The arrangement of the material is chronological for better observation of the transformation of styles and the gradual improvement of the quality of the game. The book contains games of uncrowned chess champions of the 17th-19th centuries, official world champions, as well as a number of leading grandmasters. In total, the book has 31 chapters and 94 games. It is intended for chess players of the highest category and all fans of the art of chess.
