"Your First Move" is a chess textbook for beginners by the famous chess master and Honored Coach of the USSR, A. P. Sokolsky. Alexey Pavlovich Sokolsky was a researcher and theorist, one of the few chess players on Earth whose name is associated with a chess opening. For many years, he served as a coach and second-in-command for the renowned grandmaster Isaac Boleslavsky, as well as a teacher who worked with young players. This book is the author's final work, a culmination of his research and teaching endeavors. It is intended for a wide audience.
