The Yearbook on Correspondence Chess was a periodical publication on correspondence chess. It was created in 1991 in collaboration with the International Correspondence Chess Federation and - similar to The Chess Informer in Local Chess published in the 1960s - was dedicated to international correspondence chess in three volumes per year. The games, commented in informator style, were supplemented with theoretical materials. The initiative to publish a yearbook on correspondence chess came from Italian chess correspondents Sergio Curtacci and Maurizio Tirabassi. The series began in 1991 at the publishing house s1 Editrice, Bologna. The editor of the first three editions was Massimo Alba, and from the fourth volume Maurizio Tirabassi took over editing. Volume 15, published in May 1996, was the final issue. ART P10

Many years of experience in absentee competitions, their constant refereeing, as well as thousands of letters from partners in the game convinced that correspondents are worried about the current situation with chess literature on correspondence games. The basis of this book is the observations and research on the various situations in which the correspondence chess players find themselves during the game. Many extramural chess players have provided tremendous assistance in collecting materials. I am grateful and grateful for their participation in the preparation of this publication.
