A luxurious gift edition, only a few copies of which I have and which was never put on open sale.
Coated paper, lots of large, beautiful color and black-and-white illustrations.
This gift edition is dedicated to the famous Soviet and Russian chess player, multiple world champion Anatoly Karpov.
The book was the first publication about the legendary grandmaster in more than 30 years.
The plot of the books follows the chronology of Anatoly Karpov's life path.
Starting with the story about the family and the hometown of Zlatoust, the first chess lessons given by his father,
the narrative passes through a series of tournaments. The culminating matches are the matches for the title of world champion.
More than a thousand pages contain a large number of games played by Karpov in different years.
Therefore, the book is not only a biographical work, but also a unique guide for both beginners and experienced chess players.
The three-volume collection contains about one and a half thousand photographs and documents related to the events of that time.
The book also pays attention to the social activities of Anatoly Karpov, his current work on the development of the chess movement.
"This book would not have been possible without the family archive, which my mother started collecting from the first publication
when I was seven years old. At first, the authors and I thought that we would fit into two volumes, but there was so much material
that we decided to release the third one. It is a little smaller, but life goes on!", - said Anatoly Karpov, presenting the book.
It was not put on open sale.
Very large format (23.5*33.5 cm). Weight 5 kg 500 g.
The set includes a branded gift bag.
