This version of the Sicilian defense, first applied by the Russian master Veniamin Sozin in the USSR Championship of 1929, was a brilliant weapon in the handling of the legendary world champion Robert Fisher. He was in the debut repertoire of Garry Kasparov and Veselin Topalov. Recently, this option is widely used in modern practice. The systematized theory of the Sozin-Fisher attack is first published in Russia.

The debut repertoire is built according to many factors, among which one can distinguish the chess player's style (combinational or positional), his character, his propensity to play certain positions, his experience, his tournament position, etc. This book is addressed primarily to chess players who like to attack or are forced to play acutely in accordance with their tournament position.
